“Army” style yakisoba

I know, I know. But Ryan requests a dupe of his favorite dfac meal often. So this is what I’ve come up with! It’s pictured below before I added the noodles. I’ll come back and update this one’s images when I remake it but wanted to get the blog rolled out, so this is what we’ve got for now!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pkg Spaghetti
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • 1LB ground beef
  • 1 Green pepper
  • 1 white onion
  • garlic
  • 1/2 cup+ soy sauce
  • salt
  • Garlic powder
  • Ginger paste
  • pepper
  • Green onions, to garnish

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Start by cooking the spaghetti noodles in a large pot. You will not need an entire package. I cook an entire one anyways, because one child will only eat plain buttered noodles, it’s what works for us!
  • Brown the ground beef in a skillet. Drain. Then add in the onions and peppers, cooking until onions are translucent. Once those are cooked, add in the garlic and cook until fragrant.
  • Add the half cup of soy sauce, salt, garlic powder, and (again, sorry about the measurements) two squeezes of ginger paste. If you don’t have ginger paste on hand then ginger powder will suffice, approximately 1tsp of powder. However, the paste is superior and will give a more authentic flavor.
  • Add 1/4 cup of water while stirring in the noodles.
  • Garnish with diced green onion!
